What's The Best Tour I can Organise For My Students?
You pose an excellent question. What does ‘best’ even mean for you as a teacher or a parent or a student?
It captures a number of things, of course. At Sweet Chariot, we’re very aware of what makes up ‘the best tour’ and we meet the challenge in two main ways: building in as many of the elements as possible into each tour and offering a range of tours, for each subject and budget.
Top of our list at the moment is a trip that isn’t even a tour (unless you want to add inclusions such as a tour of the LSE Campus, a City of London Tour, an overnight stay and so on). It’s right here under our noses and you can attend for £95.

It’s a workshop with Bobby Seagull of University Challenge fame discussing opportunities for students at university and in their future careers and lives. With so many accomplishments, Bobby is fascinating to listen to and will inspire students in so many ways.
Amongst other things, Bobby is still a maths teacher so a lot of his experience has a grounding in maths, but any student can take something from this session. If you’d like your students to attend, you can find out more at www.sweetchariot.co.uk/bobbyseagull.
Slightly further afield, we love to promote the Channel Island of Jersey for a whole range of wonderful opportunities and subjects as diverse as Business and Economics, Sport, Geography and History.

We work with Visit Jersey, Jersey Finance, local businesses such as fish farms, bakeries and crop farms to give students an insight into alternative and sustainable practices. Jersey is at the forefront of energy innovation for example. It also has the same sports as us with really welcoming clubs in netball, hockey, rugby and football. Of course, it has an amazing coast with gorgeous beaches and weather. It’s a stone’s throw from the mainland and is accessible from a number of airports and ports. It really is a gem.
We are really proud of our Business and Economics tours. For a range of budgets, we have options here in the UK, which includes a Welsh Mining Experience and car manufacturer, as well as the Bank of England. We off nearby tours to Jersey as well as to New York and Japan.
We like to innovate too, so for linguists who may see themselves in business one day, we work closely with a language school in Seville to include their local businesses in your tour. This broadens the vocabulary, which may itself be useful in the future, but it adds another dimension to your tour to keep your students stimulated and interested. Seville, of course, is gorgeous and, from there, you can explore Andalucia further. Estupendo.

Sport is a mainstay for Sweet Chariot, as you might expect from the name. Not only do we offer sport worldwide but we welcome teams from South Africa, Argentina, Japan and the US, so if you’d like to welcome your sporting counterparts to your school, we’d be delighted to put you on the list. This exchange of fixtures really helps promote our own expertise (and the experiences this affords you the tourist) but also fosters strong inter-school relationships. These match day experiences will live forever in students’ memories.
For Classics and History students, we also provide a choice, starting right here in the UK, from Jersey (occupied by the Nazis during WW2 with the War Tunnels now a brilliant museum) all the way to Scotland and Hadrian’s Wall. For larger budgets, you may want to consider the stunning Amalfi Coast on your trip to Rome, Herculaneum and Pompeii.
We also really love our Fashion and Textiles tours, centring on London and Paris, naturally enough. Your students will love these trips with workshops and practical, hands-on experiences.

But that’s just a snippet of the tours and experiences we can offer you, whatever your subject. If you have ideas you’d like to flesh out or if you’re looking for guidance, please Contact Us and we’d love to work with you on planning a tour.
