Touring Safely

Personal Safety

Your Safety is our primary concern

Your safety on tour is our primary concern. As part of our commitment to this, we have a dedicated risk assessment manager to assist you throughout the run up to your tour. If at any stage during your tour process you would like assistance, please contact your tour manager who will be able to assist.

Below are some websites we highly recommend you visit as part of your tour process:

Foreign Office Travel Advice
Wherever you’re going in the World, it’s important to be fully prepared before you go. We therefore recommend that you visit the Foreign Office website and review their travel advice regarding any countries which you plan to visit. The Foreign Office provides the latest travel advice by country including safety and security, entry requirements, travel warnings and health.

NHS Travel Advice
This website provides advice regarding what vaccinations you might need and how to organise them. The website can be found by Clicking Here

Travel Insurance
It is vital that you ensure that you have adequate travel insurance cover for all the members of your group. Sweet Chariot is not authorised to sell insurance, but our team would be happy to provide information. It is extremely important that you carefully read your insurance documents to ensure that the policy meets your needs and requirements.

Sweet Chariot are committed to your financial security, as part of this commitment we are members of ATOL and ABTA (backed by our TOPP Insurance policy). You can find further details of these policies below.

We are a member of ABTA no.Y6634 which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. We provide financial protection for your money when you buy a package trip. If you buy other travel arrangements such as accommodation only, this protection doesn’t apply.

  • Understand and facilitate the needs of educational travel travelling with young students
  • Have effective Safety Management Systems in place, specifically focused on
  • Offer fair terms and condition and the best financial security

To ensure our health and safety standards are maintained our systems and procedures are fully audited annually by independent experts.

STF membership is the benchmark for good school tour providers; consequently, it is an Awarding Body for the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge

The Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP) endorses the Quality Badge and requests Local Authorities to recommend the use of Badged Providers and require the minimum of additional paperwork where Quality Badge accreditation is in place.

This means that you can book your trip with confidence, meet your due diligence and reduce the amount of External Provider paperwork necessary.
